Are acrylics bad for nails?
No. No nail enhancement is bad for the natural nail. If you have a good nail tech and receive
regular maintenance your natural nails will remain in good health.
Do nails need to breathe?
No. Nails do not have lungs. The keratin that nails are made of (like your hair) are dead cells. Just
as they have no feeling when you trim them, they do not breathe.
What’s the best product for my nails?
What your nails need specifically will depend on a few factors such as your
lifestyle, genetics, personal preferences as well as your nail goals.
How often should I get my nails done?
Every person is different. For most, it depends on how fast your nails grow. If
your nails grow fast or at a normal rate, it’s typical to have them filled or
rebalanced every 2-3 weeks. If you’re hard on your nails you may also need to
have them maintained more regularly.
What’s the difference between Acrylic and Hard Gel?
Both are used as an enhancement to the natural nail and can be used to sculpt
an extension. Acrylic is porous and can be soaked off (recommended for dryer
nail beds). Hard Gel is non-porous and cannot be soaked off, (recommended for
oilier nail beds).
Do I need cuticle oil?
Yes! All nails, with or without nail enhancements need cuticle oil. It keeps the
natural nail flexible and moisturized. When wearing enhancements it keeps your
natural nails in the perfect state to retain the enhancement and prevent
excessive lifting.
